I am working with a CS1000 that has a commercial route that includes two PRI trunks. These PRI trunks are terminating to two different NT5D12 cards. I have another different route which has two trunks that are split, but use the same two NT5D12 cards; Two routes- two PRI trunks each, between two NT5D12 cards. Two clock controller cards provide Primary and Secondary clocking for all trunks.
My question is, since both 5D12 cards are full, and I'll have to add a new NT5D12 card- can I simply ignore the cabling for clocking to this new card? The new PRI loop that will be added will simply be additional trunk members to one of the existing routes.
Is it simply a matter of creating new PRI loop, new "D" channel, and add new members?

It seems simple, but want to confirm. Thanks

Eddie

You are correct. The system uses a primary and secondary reference for its clocking source. After that you can add T1/PRI circuits and and you will not connect any clocking cables to those NT5D12 cards. It's different on a 1000E where you have a clock reference for each Media Gateway you have a circuit in. You should be good to add the programming to the new route.
