Someone told me that AD user domain accounts could be added to local groups on a Win 2K3 server with said server not part of the domain but a stand-alone server on the network.

Can anyone confirm that this is true?

Thanks!

Why would you not want the server to be part of the domain? It doesn't have to be an A/D server, just a member server. Then all your domain groups work natively.

I don't believe you can do that. You can do it if the server is a member server, but without being a domain member there is no trust between the sam databases.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark
