Hello,
I have a client that is moving temporarily out of an office (we'll call it Office-A) and is going to relocate to another on the same PBX (Office-B). They would like to relocate the receptionist to the 2250 at office-B. She is going to need to answer the calls there from Office-A.

Key's 10-18 in ld20 are free on the 2250 so I would like to add the ACD Key, and also the Night Key there. I read that in order to use these keys, you have to press shift first? Is that true? Here is the print out from one of the front 2616's at Office-A

KEY 00 ACD 6700 0 2201

01 DWC 6700

Do I just need to add key 00 and key 06 to the console, and remove them from the phones at Office-A as there will be no one there to answer? Sorry, my knowledge is fairly limited. Any help is appreciated!

You didn't post the whole TN of the Set, but it looks like it is a Regular phone and NO you can't put her info on a Console, why don't you just move her phone???

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I was hoping that it could be done remotely, as I'm not on-site. But, since I can not add that key to the console it looks like I'll just have to move those keys to another 2616 in the destination building. Can you tell me what "01 DWC 6700" is doing? Not sure if I need to copy that one over too.

Displaw waiting calls and it is part of the ACD Phone.

Some people on this forum will say never make changes on an ACD phone as it will cause corruption, but I have never had any. but this is up to you on how you feel about it. Remember this is your JOB and not mine.

Also you can't cpy a SPV phone.

What I normally do if I can't go to a site and move the crossconnects and the phone, I would find a phone that is near where they want it and is working and then print the TNB of that phoneand if I can I do a software MOV to another Vacant TN and then MOV the TN of that ACD set to the TN of the phone I moved off of it. If I can't MOV the first phone, then I would just out that TN and MOV the ACD phone to it.

the set you posted is not a 2250 and you can't put acd on a 2250, sounds like you'll have to move her phone to office b and she'll be answering both

acewarlock: Moving that set to another sounds like a good idea, as there is one close in the mail room behind the front desk. There are currently two sets at office-A answering calls. If I move one out, do I then need to just disable the other so calls won't ring to it? That way when they move back I can just enable it and reverse the move I did. Would that be the easiest solution?

You don't really need to disable the one your not moving, just don't login to it and it won't receive any calls, but you can disable it if you want to.

Ace,

I thought using the MOV command on an ACD TN was a no-no.

I thought it was a good practice to out and rebuild any ACD phone sets.

Have you had good luck with this in the past?

As I said in my first post, some people may disagree with me on changes and Moves on an ACD set. But I used to work for Nortel from 1979 to 1984 and I was one of the people that started the rumors that you shouldn't move or change ACD phones. We would get a problem that we could fix, but didn't know what caused it. If the customer demanded and explanation of what caused it, would ask has anyone made any moves or changes on ACD phones and if they said YES, we would thats what caused it. After about 38 years working on Nortel Systems, I have never seen any corruption caused by doing that, but I always say it's your call not mine. How good do you feel about doing it.
