Adding a vairable to a SSIS Package

I'm fairly new to SSIS stuff, so looking for some help on adding a variable to a SSIS package.

I need to add a variable to my the query that, when the SSIS package is executed, the user is prompted for this variable.

... Oh, I used Management studio to create the dtsx file, and imported it into VS2005, where I figured this would be the place to add the variable functionality.
