Anyone care to walk me thru adding a sip phone to my network, or is this to complicated. I have the phone plugged in on the same network as the ucx50 and have added the extension. I can not get the phone to work. Everything is lit up but the phone can't be called or call out (internal or external). Phone is a Polycom sound point 331.

THANK YOU FOR THE LINK. I am still doing something wrong as I am not able to make or receive calls. I did notice something interesting. When I call the IP phone (sound Point 331) at ext. 401 my phone hangs up as soon as I dial the number, if I call an extension that does not exist I get a busy signal or "your call can not be completed". Any help would be great.

Do I need to have a "secret"? If I enter one in my UCX where do I put it in the phone? I see several black spaces in SIP technology. Not sure where else to look.

The Polycom phone must be added as a "Generic SIP device", which DOES require a secret. Usually, if the SIP phone supports web GUI programming, it is much easier than trying to do it via the phone and a lot faster!

I am beginning to think the UCX is not configured properly since voice mail to email also does not work. Under network parameters what should my host say?
