I have a book of approximately 64 pages consecutively numbered. (no spreads). one particular section is going to be repeated, one after the other in two different layouts. since all the sections have "index tabs" printed on the pages I would like the two versions of this particular section to be together, so that if the first version of the section ends on page 53, the other version could begin as page "a", then "b", "c" etc. and then continue with the next section resuming from page 54, to the end of the book. In other words: 1, 2, 3… 52, 53, a, b, c… g, 54, 55 etc. I want to be able to keep the two variations of the section together in the document.

thanks.

I tried this but can't seem to have the numbers I want end up on the right pages. Also, the letter pages have a letter prefix that I did not select. I guess its the letter from the master page. can that be avoided?

At page 54 you need to put in a Section Start.
In the section and numbering window start page at 1
change numbering to A,B,C or a,b,c which ever then where it says
Sec1: select it and delete it, keep that bit blank.

Then do the same on page H, only start it at page 54 instead of 1
