adding a secondary smtp address via script

jeffn@xxxxx.com

want to add jeff.newton@xxxxx.com
as a secondary smtp address...

we want to do thsi for about 500 users so . .

tried a script from technet but couldn't get it to work.
anyone got a vbscript?
