I have added a modem to my son's computer. It is not working. I think I have assigned it to the wrong port (I was given only options of one or two) the previous modem was assigned to Com 4 - but I do not know how to add ports. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

It is not so much that you need to add a port, you need to remove a port. Get to hardware setup and see if you have a choice of built in peripherals, if so choose com2 and step it through to inactive (disabled). This will free up com2 for your new modem. Ed Fair
