Is it possible to add a certain percentage of a colour (C,M,Y,K) to mulitple objects which are different colours?

For example, if I have 50 squares, all different colours (CMYK), and I decide I want to add 10% Black to all of them.

How do I do this without having to change the colour of 50 seperate squares?

Thanks in advance

Hmm... well you could copy all the objects(ctrl+a) then paste in front(ctrl+f) then combine the paths into one object, make the colour black, and then reduce the transparency to 10 percent.
Unfortunately if you moved any of the objects, they would move out from under the combined shape. So do it for the final piece.
There must be other ways to do it ,can't think right now(too tired), will get back to you.

Moe: It could have been a real ugly situation, but luckily I managed to shoot him in the spine.

Surely there is a better way than that??

Also, doesn't transparency cause all sorts of printing problems?

Thanks for your help any way. :)

Hi junglist,

This can easily be done with the adjust colors menu.

Select all your objects you wan't to darken by 10%, go to the menu Filter>Colors>adjust colors and add some black to your shapes

hope this solves it

Yes!! Of course you COULD do it carlows way, if you want to take the 'EASY' way. *LOL*
Joking aside, Carlows' is the way to do it... adjust colors & black 10%.
I've been up too long.

Thanks Carlow - Your method seems to be working.....however, some of my shapes ar not affected, while others are.

Are there some factors which afect how this filter works?
I can't seem to work out what all the shapes which don't change colour have in common.

Are certain path types not affected by this filter????

are any of the objects locked? unlock all first. Symbols won't be affected either.

Hi junglist,

just draw some shapes, applied a variety of effects on them and then did the adjust thing, everything went fine.

Don't have the answer or maybe they were not in the selection

carlow

No, none of the objects are locked, and none of them are symbols either.

And I definately had all parts of my drawing selected.

Any ideas????
