Adding a New User/Phone

Hello All - I added a new user and assigned him the phone extension at his desk. Comparing settings from another working user and I am not able to select the Primary Extension section in Cisco Call Manager. Would the Digest Credentials be something provided or auto-assigned when creating a user? also, just because an extension was assign, it may/does not work because of the DID range. What is the process more or less to add a user and map him/her to a working accessible number?

Went in the phone settings (Device>Phone) and configured other parameters there. Also, associated user at the bottom, Associate End Users. Besides getting the user an actual working number from the outside, is there anything else? Thanks
 
...And device has been associated (Associated Devices). it does appear the last thing that may need to be done is an actual number that works from outside.
