I am extremely new to this forum and I have looked back over the last 11 pages and cannot find anything that helps me.

We have got an old Meridian Norstar phone system and I want to physically connect another phone line into the system. The new line is a different number to the existing ones. The idea is that when somone dials that specific number it rings on the boss' phone.

BT have installed the new phone line for us and have just terminated it on the wall as a normal analogue BT phone. I need to take this socket and patch it into our PBX. Does anyone know how to do this.

I am afraid that my experience is virtually none so please go easy with me!!!!!

Thanks in advance for your help [neutral]

Should post in Norsar forum.

What Norstar system do you have? 308,616,824,CICS,MICS,etc.

It depends on system type how it phisicly hooks up and how to program it.

Thank you for your response. Please let me apologise, I had not realised that there was a forum especially for the Norstar products. I hope you dont mind me continuing my post here. In future I will use the correct forum.

As far as our phone system goes, how do I find out what version of system we have. Is there a specification stamp somewhere?

Thanks in advance and sorry again for posting in the wrong forum.

Do you know how to acces programming?

How can I obtain my KSU and software version while in programming:

KSU and software information can be found in programming under MAINTENANCE and VERSION. Select SHOW and the SP code will be displayed. Make note of the first two letters immediately after the SP 30 _ _ . They are case sensitive. Look these two letters up by the information below to obtain your KSU type and software version.

This is the FAQ site for Norstar: faq799-0 Luck!!

I dont know if this is of any help, but the 2 characters after the SP30 are nA. The problem is, I cannot find that on the list above!!!!

I phoned up the people and they told me I have a Norstar Compaq 6+16. I hope that means more to you than it does me!!!

Thanks for your help

Kev
