Bellsouth has added a new NXX 615-725 added my nashville office op11. I need some direction on permitting the users to dial this number.

i checked the npa:

print a working nxx, then add the 615 using the same rli.. if your dial 615 2345 then you need just the nxx, if your dial xxx 615 2345, then the npa needs to be looked at.

those two npa's allow any 7 digit numbers to work past the npa..

just want to make sure that I am wanting to add prefex/nxx 725 to the existing area code/npa 615.

So cant i just add:
NET
AC1
NPA

THEN ADD 1615 TO RLI 1

?

You said you were adding a new NXX.
Do you already have NPA 1615 in the system?????

If you already have NPA 1615 in the system, then you shouldn't have to do anything else.

when i try to add this is what displays:

I DONT KNOW WHAT I AM DOING WRONG?

i am unfamiliar where to go on programming next:

ESN0073
Conflict with another (NPA, NXX, etc.).
Action: Enter new SPN number.

Severity: Info

no as my earlier post in the thread shows only 2 npa's 1615 is not there. and when I try to add it it gives that esn 073

Did you try to prt 1615, you only show 2 NPA's but you must have more than that or how do you dial other NPA's

You may want to check your SPN table, perhaps it is there instead. The error indicates that it is "somewhere" but doens't tell you exactly where.

then repeat and use spn and nxx in place of npa, also check spn 16... someone may have entered it WRONGE before you started

correct, among the many many spns, they entered the following: (i only pasted one page of teh print out) should i remove the 16 and enter the 1615? if I remove the 16 then "would I" have to enter any other npa with 16xx codes?

last question what is the difference of entering in npa versus spn. why did they choose this?

It's called "down and dirty" BARS. Someone too a shortcut when they programmed your system.

but if the 16 is in the spn, does that supposed to mean that the user can dial any npa or nxx/prefix after 16? for example 1-625-725-xxxx?

you should never alow 1700 off your switch as 700 is pay per call info and sex lines, it could cost your company a lot of money.
