Adding a new magazine

I have a single LIM three high PWM, PSM, IFM. I ordered another IFM to go on top. I have it all bolted on. The new mag has a TMU in slot 10, a DSU in slot 163 and a RG5DC in the far right slot. What are the basic steps to get this new IFM connected and ready to put TLU28s in? It is running BC8 if that matters.

Recommended procedure is (as whosrdaddy wrote ) but new magazine should be empty only DSU and RG5DC of course
After SFCEI and LSCNP plug in all boards and
CNHUI:LIM=….

And
You have new magazine with TMU and are you have TMU in old magazine?
If no, it is not recommended (if I good remember – not possible) to use TMU with TSU-T in this same LIM

I connected the DSU to the LSU and ran the power cable down to the power supply. There are DIP switches on the RG5DC that are not on the the other RG5DCs so I'm not sure how they should be set. Any ideas? Also, The other RG5DCs have another cable attached (alarm?) do I need this one?

Are you shure that you have RG5DC on your "old" magazine?
I thing that You have PU4DC and not RG5DC

Sorry it is PU4DCs in the old mags. The old mags also have their own TMUs.

So, PU4DC is only Power Unit and You have REU board in LIM
RG5DC is a board which replace REU board and PUxDC
This “other cable” from one PU4DC to other PU4DC is a ring signal link.
Find a REU board and look how are jumper are set. Ring voltage and cadence
And set Dip switches on new RG5DC for this same combination as REU
