Hello.
We ordered a new DID from the local phone company.
The 4 digit extension was already in our switch as a non-DID.
Today was the day that the new number was supposed to be working.
When I call the number from outside, it rings into our switchboard.
I called the phone company. They confirmed that they pointed the new number at our switchboard.
I explained that it was supposed to be a DID and ring directly to the extension.
They don't know how to do that.
We have added DID's many times in the past, usually in groups of 100 or more.
This is just one number, chosen because it spells the name of the type of clinic here in the hospital that needs the new number.
No names mentioned, but there was a buyout in our area within the last couple years, and I lost my great support guys in the process.
Most of them early retired.
The current group has very little knowledge of our Nortel CS1000.
I have done all the adds/moves/and changes for years and years.
Been to Richardson, TX and really miss Nortel!
Is there a load where I need to specify that an extension has become a DID?
I searched on earlier posts and saw mention of LD 49 and mapping one number to another, but this is a call coming into our T1 group.
Any help would be appreciated.
