Hello,

How can I add Internet Explorer into the list of applications that log their activities and errors into a log file viewable through the XP Event Viewer along with Application, Security and System? Some otherwise identically imaged PCs in the company have IE (and other applications) in the list, so why not some others?!

Thanks an advance

Rob

Are those users running IE6 or 7, if you're running IE7 then it should have been added during the installation of IE7 and if it's not there now you should probably re-install IE7 and see if that resolves it.

If you're running IE6 then that's why the Event Viewer isn't showing up, because it was only enabled with IE7 and newer.

Simon

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

Well that explains it - we are restricted to IE 6 here. Thanks for the prompt answer Simon.

From your response it sounds like logging has to be enabled at the application end, rather than being something that can be selectively switched on/off from Windows event viewer. Is that correct?

Thanks again

Rob
