Hi there,
We have an employee that just left, and we need his e-mail address to go to another employee. Our sysadmin is on a cruise right now, and we're trying to figure out how we normally do this.

Thanks
Eric

go into ad users and computer on the exchange server...

Find the user, double click him / her goto the exchange general tab - select delivery options - and select forward to select who you want it to go to and select deliver to both......

ok-ok-ok etc.

Then that way mail will be delivered to both mailboxes and your tech can sort it when they return.

The other way is to open the properties on the original employee and open the 'Email Addresses' tab. Look for the bold SMTP address and delete it. Then go to the properties for the employee that you want to receive the mail and create an new SMTP address that matches the one you deleted from the former employee's account. Don't select it as the primary!

That's assuming there is more than one SMTP on the original user, since all mail enabled users need to have an SMTP address configured. You shouldn't delete the only one there.
