Adding a network printer

I am trying to add a sharp AR-336 printer to my network and I am having difficulties adding the printer. Icreated a standard tcp/ip port and assigned an ip address. The printer software loads but when I try to print a test page I get an error message. The printer powers up and prints out a test page, also I can ping the nic of the printer. I am not sure how to resolve this issue.

What error message are you getting?

I have experienced minolta drivers which do not setup correctly. Is the type correct such as RAW or LPR?

Most sharp printer have a web interface. Open your browser and try to connect to the printers ip. If this works your atleast know you are able to talk to the printer via IP. The you may want to search for an updated driver.
