I am adding a second windows 2003 domain controller to a Windows 2000 domain. The other existing Windows 2003 domain controller is also an exchange server. Do I need to run adprep /forestprep and adprep /domainprep to prepare the AD for the new 2003 domain controller or since I already have another windows 2003 domain controller do I still need to run adprep /forestprep and adprep /domainprep.

This server is going to replace the my old Windows 2000 domain controller. I realize I will still have to transfer roles etc.

Thanks for your help,

Jon Alden

Since you have already completed this task when u installed your first 2003 DC, the schema has already been updated therefore this is no longer required, except if you are deploying Windows 2003 R2 release this time around.
