I want to convert from 64kbps Frame Relay to 256kbps MPLS and want to do the conversion by ADDING the new vendors MPLS line to the second serial port on my 2620 router without disconnecting the current Frame connection in the 1st serial port. Then I want to test the MPLS connection before severing my Frame connection. Can I do this? I know I have the extra port. Does the router even CARE if I am installing a second connection? My integrator says we need a 2nd NEW router for the new MPLS and I just don't understand WHY. Any wisdom on this?

Given you have a free interface than all will work fine. Will you be using NAT? if so all you should have to do is setup the interface and build a new ip nat inside source statement, if you have a static than you will have to change your ethernet if you want to go that route. Jeter@LasVegas.com
