I have a magix and using 2 DSS consoles with 4424 phones. The first DSS is hooked up to the receptionist phone on port 0101 and it is working fine. The second DSS doesn't work. The light on the bottom left lights up but the rest of the buttons do not. Then phone is connected to port 0109 and the card is a 412TDL. I can do *00 from the phone and all lights light up so the DSS works and getting power. How do I tell it that that phone has a DSS on it. Someone told me i need to assign it as a operator but it doesn't allow me to.

Thanks,

Only the 1st and 5th(I believe although it could be 4th as my magix memory isn't what it once was) port on a card can be assigned as an operator extension.

DSS/BLF can only be connected to an Operator position, and those can only be the 1st, 5th, ports on a 412TDL card.

Just got back to customers site to try moving it to the 5th port on the 412 card. It still doesn't work. The page light is on on the DSS and i can turn on and off the msg button as well. Still no lights on the DSS other than that. The first DSS is working on the operator port (0101) and I looked at the numbering plan on the DSS and that is correct. Any other suggestions?

You have to tell the processor that the extension in the fifth port is a operator position. By default it is but can be removed and quite frequently is removed.

When I go into operator it shows the first port as the operator. How do I tell it it has 2 operators and what port it is on?
