Hello all!

I have an existing Merlin Magix system configuyration as follows:

Processor Cabinet
Processor 4.0
412TDL
016ETR
016ETR
Merlin Messaging 4.0
800 GS/LS-ID

Expansion Cabinet
800 GS/LS-ID

I am adding an 024TDL module to the system. Just from reading the other posts in this forum, I have concluded that I should place the new 024TDL between the 016ETR and Messaging cards. After installing and arranging the cards, I just need to so a system renumber.

Does this sound like I am on the right track? Are there any 'gotchas' that I should be aware of?

Thanks Very Much for any help you may provide.

Brandon

You will have to do a lot of reprogramming - unless you put the new module (024) at the end. If you stick it in between - all of your extension numbering from that point on will be totally screwed up. After installing it - do a board renumber - not system renumber. Then you can see what extension numbering you want to use for the 024 - depending on the dial plan you had initially. You can always renumber the 024 module extensions to what you need them to be - if you used "setup space" initially.

Just put the card in the next available slot. No need to remove cards. As far as a board renumber, you only need to do that on Legend systems, not magix. When you power the system up, it will see the new card.

YES ! - BY ALL MEANS -

Just put it in the next slot - Otherwise you will be PROGRAMMING FOR DAYS!

Hello again everyone!

I have finally got around to installing this card in the system. It is in Slot 7...the last card, just like ya'll suggested. Now where do i go in the SPM to do a board renumber? I have found the system renumber, but bard renum. Thanks for all of your advice!

Brandon: Press menu, system programming, start, system, board renumber - then wait for the system to restart, then exit

Thanks for the reply Tom. I did the board renumber, however, all of the extensions on the new card are four digit extensions 7156-7179. When the system was originally set up, it was programmed to have 3 digit extensions. Do I need to do the Set Up Space function?

Thanks Again,

B

No: That was already done. Just change the new card extensions from 7156-7179 to what ever you want them to be - just continue with your 3-digit numbering. Use, menu, system programming, system renumber, block, extensions, for starting old number, input 7156, then enter the starting (continuation) range of your 3-digit extension numbers, press enter - and you are done.
