AFTER ADDING 007MLM MOD TO A LEGEND SYSTEM.. SLOT 5.....WHEN DIALING 770...I GET A RING THEN A BEEP LIKE TONE....I ASSUME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO ASSIGN PORTS TO THE MAIL UNIT....THIS SYSTEM A 4.2 (UNLIKE THE MAGIX) DOES NOT HAVE A AUTO CONFIG OF THE VM...SO MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I ASSIGN PORTS TO THE LEGEND SO I TALK TO IT? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE....ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED

Well, when you set up 770 - you need to make the members - all of the voice mail ports - as step 1. You then need to setup a cover group (usually 30) with all the extensions as members that will be covered by voicemail. You then set up group coverage (770 to provide coverage for group 30). Now, if you dial 770 - you should have the voice mail AA answer. 770, of course, has to be setup as an integrated voice mail group with linear hunt. You also need to assign the lines covered by voice mail to it - unless you decide to go with a delay - then ask for more help.

By the way, if you dial any voice mail port directly from intercom, the voice mail port should answer and say "transfering call". If it does not - you may have a defective voice mail.

So go to Extensions, More, Group Calling, Members, *0501, Enter, *0502, Enter, (you didn't say how many ports it is - if more than 2, continue *0503, *0504, etc.)

Then follow Tom's info about the coverage group, and be sure to set the group as Integrated VMI
