HI All Brand New to Avaya. I have an off site that has a 8300 and i simply want to add a extension 7186 as an appearence on 2411. They use a GEDI as an interface Thanks

Create a bridged-appearance (brdg-appr 7186).

That assumes 7186 is an existing digital station.
If not add it with x as the port and any digital set as the station type.
Also if 7186 is an analog station you would need to create an abridged-appearance.

Great 1 more thing assuming neither station answer the call it will revert to orginal voice mail correct Thanks i will post in the am when i complete

Both extensions (7186 and 2411) will follow their own coverage paths.

One draw back to putting another phone number as an appearance is that you can't transfer those calls answered on those 'foreign' stations to another station.
That is,if you answer 7186 on the 2411 phone, you will not be able to transfer it anywhere.
Sometimes a call pickup group or coverage path is a better idea.

You need to add more than one brdg appear for that extension to be able to transfer a call from the number. Ln 1 & Ln 2 for brdg extension.

If, for both x7186 and x2411, you make the following change on page 2: RESTRICT LAST APPEARANCE = N

Then you will be able to transfer calls answered on the x7186 bridged appearance without any difficulty.

Wow, that sure helps me, Ive been fighting that thing for 3 years...
Thanks again.

From a 2420 phone I was not able to transfer after changing the 'RLA' to N. It appeared to put the call on hold with no Dial tone. This is second hand information, so I'm not really sure if she could finish the transfer in some way or not.
A second appearance did the trick.

Just as an FYI, if you have a single bridged appearance of another extension on your phone and have answered a call on it that you want to transfer, after pressing the transfer button you can then just press one of the available call appearances of the main extension; you can then enter the extension number you want to transfer the call to and complete the transfer.
