I alreay have 2 hards drivers, a CD reader and a CD burner on my PC. I was wondering what are the options for adding a third hard drive as the existing cables only allow for 4 devices?

That's what I did (I have six IDE drives hooked up). Just make sure your power supply will handle all this.

Thanks for your advice. What type of IDE card is required?

How do I know if my power supply is sufficient?

Hi there,

I would suggest you try a Promise Ultra 100TX or 133TX they are relatively cheap and bind into the system without a hitch...

about the PSU wattage: well this depends on your CPU and Peripherials you have installed... but a PSU with 400w+ (the more the better) and namebranded (more expensive but also more reliable and less fluctuation in the powerrails) ...

Ben

If it works don't fix it! If it doesn't use a sledgehammer...
