add_month function

currently have a sql with the following,

CDW.ENRLMNT_HDR_DIM.ENRLMNT_EFF_DT BETWEEN add_months(sysdate, {?Month}-12) AND add_months(sysdate, {?Month}-1)

?Month is a parameter, can it successfully be used in this way, I can't seem to get it to work.
