Is there a way to add a workstation to the domain and have it automatically create it in a specific OU from the client? For example I have an OU for laptops, and one for desktops. When I add the laptop to the domain, the machine account gets created in the Computers folder. Then I have to manually move it to the Laptop OU. Is there a way to choose where they go when you add them?

THanks!

if you join the machine to the domain via script this can be done. Check out the dsmod function. It works great. I use it as part of an unattended installation. It puts the machine in the correct OU and group.

You can create the object by hand first then when it gets added to the domain it will be in the correct place.
