Add workstation to network - slow on some NT servers, fast on others

We have a large number of Windows NT servers. Each server is a separate LAN.

If I connect a workstation's CAT5 directly to Server A, it will show up on that server's network quickly. If I do the same with Server B, it takes up to 2 minutes and sometimes will time out.

I connected the workstations directly to eliminate the possibility of a switch or router or cable issue being the problem.

Are there any settings in the registry that account for the lag time on Server B?

Did you ensure that the speed/duplex settings for the server are set correctly (ie not auto)

All the servers and the workstations are set to Auto.

You should avoid running on auto-negotiate as much as possible. Try hard coding the speed to 100MB full
