I know nothing about Merlin.
I've got a customer with a Merlin Magix & they want to add a card for 12 ext'ns. Other than powering down & installing the card w/amphenal, is there anything else that I have to do on the system to make it work?

Jon

What do you mean a board renumber?
Is that just the extn. number.
When connected won't it just show up as extn eg:4111, 4112 etc.

Jon

That's a procedure done in system programming. You may not need to do a board renumber. But if you do, and you're not familiar with the Magix, I'd suggest getting a tech onsite to help. You can really hose up the system if something goes wrong in programming.

The best advice I can give you, if you are going to do it yourself, is BACK IT UP FIRST before you do anything.

The new phones will come up unprogrammed, and probably have wacky extension numbers, which you will have to deal with.

Thank you both.
From the sounds of it I had better leave it to somebody else.
Their administrator does good at numbering and programming the sets but if installing the new board could screw up other things then non-profit or not, they will have to pay the piper.
Thanks again.

Jon

Getting someone experienced with Merlin Legend/Magix is a good idea. There is another item called Dial Plan that has an effect on station numbering. The default numbering when adding a module most likely won't match the existing one, so programming is needed, in addition to programming the features, etc. on the new phones.
