Hi

I want to add a Win 2008 std server to my 2003 SBS domain which is my PDC (we do not have SDC). Do I need to install active directory on the 2008 server or is it ok when I just add the server to the 2003 sbs domain.

Fact is that active directory was standard installed on the 2008 box. This server is not a SDC. Do I better remove the AD server role from the 2008 server?

The 2008 server will be hosting one application.

Regards

Bert

I would remove the role, then add it to the domain. I run a Server 2008 Std. on my SBS domain with no problem, but I installed the Server 2008 software, and never added the AD role

Hi fsov

thanks for the input. I will remove the role as soon as possible, probably in the weekend.

Regards
