Add second Exchange to different NT domain and O/S

Hi all,

Am about to add a second server into an existing site. Reason being it was deemed the easiest and safest way to upgrade the server - move all the mailboxes to the new server then decomission the old one at a later date. This has been planned and set by management so can't be changed at this time.

My question: The current server is an NT4 BDC and is part of a larger domain. The new server is a Windows 2000 Member Server and is in a different domain to the existing server. I was planning to use the same Services password as on the existing server. Am I going to hit problems with them being on two seperate domains though?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will probably have to set a trust between the two domains.
