I have an HP6110xi. It is hooked to the computer via USB. I would like to add this printer multiple times and then rename it with different settings. i.e., one "printer" would be for black and white economy printing, and one might be set up for 4x6 color best quality printing. Does that make sense.

I am not sure how can I add it muliple times. It asks for the driver, and I can't seem to find just a "simple" driver file. And then it seems more complicated b/c of the USB port?

I don't know why you couldn't do that as long as you have
different names for them.

You sure can do that. I have installed my Canon i550 three times: by default, Windows XP names them all as Canon i550 with (Copy 1) and (Copy 2) after them to distinguish them. You can right-click on the icons (in the Printers and Faxes dialog) and rename them to something such as FastMono, FastColour, PhotoColour, etc.

I know that I can add the printer multiple times.

But I am trying to find out how to do it. There seems to be ALOT of stuff on the HP install CD and I can't boil it down to just a simple driver. Any ideas

I have a few HP-2100's with extra paper trays.
It works fine to install the printer multiple times, and to setup a different default papertray for each.
eg HP-2100-Tray1, HP-2100-Tray3, HP-2100-Tray3.
Then its quicker to select the "printer" you want to use rather than clickety-clack at horrible WindoZe printer dialog boxes.
