Add Replica Domain Controller Fails

I am attempting to add a W2K replica domain controller. The DCPROMO is failing during the replication of the schema. It always fails after replicating 403 objects.

10/16 08:28:21 [INFO] Error - The Directory Service failed to replicate the partition CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=domroot,DC=intra from remote server laxdc01.pasadena.us.domroot.intra. (8418)

10/16 08:28:23 [INFO] NtdsInstall for pasadena.us.domroot.intra returned 8418

10/16 08:28:23 [INFO] DsRolepInstallDs returned 8418

10/16 08:28:23 [ERROR] Failed to install to Directory Service (8418

I'm not sure what process to take to resolve this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HI.

Here are some troubleshooting steps:

First thing firse - use NTBACKUP to backup your system state to a file. Do this before and after any change.

On the existing server, install the support tools from W2K server CDROM, and then run
DCDIAG

You should also check the Event Viewer logs on the existing server looking for related errors.

Run CHKDSK C: /F on the existing server.
