Add/Remove Programs Wont open

I need to remove some programs on our W2K application server but the icon (appwiz.cpl) doesn't open when double clicked. Am I missing something? Have we been hacked?

I doubt you have been hacked but you may have registry corruption.

I would suggest you download and install regclean 4.1a. Though no longer supported by Microsoft, this tool is still useful.
