My PC is running W98 SE.

Running Add/Remove Programs from Settings, I chose to unistall some applications. Some uninstalls failed because of different reasons, and I did a clean up myself, removing files/directory. Surely not the best method but it freed some disk space.

The problem is that I continue to see "removed" programs in the list of install/uninstall tab.

Anyone who knows how I can update this list ?

Thanks in advance,
Xtian,

Has TweakUi got this facility anyone? My suggestions are what I would try myself. If incorrect, I welcome corrections to my rather limited knowledge. Andy.

Xtian,

Backup the registry and/or export the following keys:
go to Start>Run, type regedit. Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

and delete the keys containing the program you uninstalled.

Yea, you can use TweakUI to remove any entries from the list. (Just be careful not to remove any programs you might want to uninstall later.) If you dont already have it, you can get TweakUI at:
I think microsoft provides install instructions, but just in case, to install right-click on the .inf/.ini (cant remember) file and click install.

It adds a icon to your control panel with lots of tweaking options.
