add printer ?

oi~

i'm on a w2k domain (network) and one of the XP pc's has a locally attached printer that is used by various people in the building, problem is (i just "took" over this network) that a added computer can't print to that printer, tried tons of things, plus installed drivers but all w/ no luck.

anyone any ideas ?

Try creating a local port on that pc (\\pcnane\printername). The pc name is the one the printer is connected and of course that printer.

what kind of port, LPR ? or raw ?

No it will say local port, in the same place as LPR

grmbl :} i looked at another pc that is able to print to that printer and it says it's connected to LPT1.. ?!
