add pc as a ip phone

i wonder if it is possible to add a pc as a ip phone and how?

You need to install Cisco IP communicator on the PC, then program in the call manager.

is it free the cisco ip communicator? because when i try to install it from cisco.com it demands to me a valid contract.

Do you have a cisco system to work with? This is not something that works autonomously on the phone, you have to have a system to drive it. Look on your install discs to see if the program (the right release) is there.

hello,
i just try with an UC520 and ip phones and i want to add a CIPC to the system? i downloaded the CIPC program and installed it on the PC but it can't connect with the tftp server (10.1.1.1) which is the tftp server for other ip phones. should i install an other tftp server on the pc or what is the problem?

Can you ping 10.1.1.1 from the PC?? If not, it will never work.
