It is becoming more popular for malware writers to use NTFS "Alternate Data Streams" (ADS) to make removal more difficult. See:
While Windows XP supports ADS in its NTFS filestore, there is little support to allow you to detect or remove ADS if created. This freeware shell extension add-in was developed by Ryan Means to remedy this deficit.
