I need to add a symbol for heat flow, Q with a dot above it. I cannot find this symbol in the symbols list or in the alt codes. I also tried to manipulate the script formats in the equation editor, but no luck. Does anyone know where I can get this symbol or how I can create it? I also need a symbol for volumetric flow, V with a dot above it.

Hi JTBorton

I think it is possible to do this using only the microsoft equation editor.

In my computer, after opening the M.Eq.Edit, the third symbolic group, starting from the left, has the sign you're looking for.

I opened Equation editor, but the symbol is not in the column. Do you have some sort of add-in?

After Insert-Equation, type "V" or "Q", select it, then go to "accents" (fourth from the right in "Structures" tab in equation tools) and select the dot.

It's a standard feature of the equation editor with no add-ons.
