Hello:
I need help with adding a new string value to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\RUN
I am using windows 2000 professional.
Any idea on how to add a new string?
I appreciate your help
Thank you.

Hello, kevinle.

[1] If you are doing it by hand, just Start|Run regedit.exe to open up the registry.
[2] The interface is much alike Explorer. Navigate to the key in question.
[3] Use Menu Edit and Add Value of format REG_SZ, meaning simply a string. Give the new Run entry a Name then its Value. (No quotation mark is needed to delimit the string Name and Value.)
[4] Exit the registry and you're done.

It is understood, to begin with, that you've all the permission to do so.

regards - tsuji
