Hey guys,
Still working on a form with a grid.
Have settled on using an updateable view for the record source of the grid.
I am working on the add record behaviour.
I have the records ordered the newest at the top.
When I add a new record, the new record is added at the bottom of the grid, until it is saved, then goes to the top.
Is there any way to make the new line appear at the top before saving.
Other wise the table is jumping around every time a new record is added.

If the view/grid is sorted that way, then I assume you're using an ORDER BY datefield DESCENDING.

To get new records in order you'd index the view each time you open it. Or you indeed add new records to the table and requery it. In another Thread we already discussed the problems that has with merging current changes with a requery, so the index is the easier option unless you save before adding to the table and requery.

Bye, Olaf.
