I'm logged in as administrator but it doesn’t look like I have all the permit ions because I don’t see the add new hardware icon in control panel and the device manager under system properties . any suggestions ? thanks Don’t dream your life, live your dreams

NT won't install hardware for you, nor does it have a centralised device manager. You have to manually install drivers for the device you installed, or NT just won't see it.

What is the device you wish to install? We may be able to point you towards the right Control Panel applet you need to use. [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K

I'm trying to install a new hard drive.
how to make a start up disk on nt? Don’t dream your life, live your dreams

Assuming your not running RAID, once the disk is installed (physically) you will be able to format/modify it's setup using Disk Administrator on NT ?
