Im totally new to Solaris, we just got our first Sun box installed and Im starting with no knowledge of Unix. I have a number of HP Jet Direct devices on the network. How do I "map" to one of those printers on the Sun box? All the HPs are tcp/ip devices with dedicated IP addresses, but I dont know where to begin.. Ive been digging around in the Sun Documentation on line but I havnt had any luck finding basic information like this.

thanks for any help

You can download HP Jetadmin software for Solaris from HP website. After that you can install the HP jetadmin software. Please read HP Jetadmin document first before you configured the HP printer.
I already configured HP Jetdirect and Intel Print Server for Solaris 8 and worked well.
Maybe this info can help you.
