We have problem for long time about disk space on one of lpar on p570 , so
With in few days we have a schedule to to add one of EMC LUN to that LPAR .
So can anybody tell me how to proceed to do that ..
Because I don’t have knowledge about adding SAN LUN to lpar..

Thankx in advance ..

You will have first to build your disk array on SAN (using storage manager) and define your RAID. Then create a host (or host group - If you intend to access this LUN by two LPARs for example) using storage mapping tab. (Be careful if there is zoning in the SAN switches! You might have to add your FC to the zone for your LPAR to be able to see the Storage!)

I would expect the above have been created since you are only adding extra space! So i would assume you are already connected to the SAN using a fiber channel or so!

All you have to do then is to create a LUN on the array assign it to the host in the mapping and then do cfgmgr on the LPAR to see it!

Khalid

Do you do the SAN allocation, or do you have a SAN Team?

AS khalidaaa said, it's easy to configure EMC luns even with a vio server.

You can configure it with or without powerpath for load balancing and failover
