Add IP phone possible? 1

I'm an 'old' telephone guy, but I have been slowly trying to come up to speed on IP phones.
I have an IP office system 4.2(11), I think, and am wanting to add a 9650C in the managers office. I got the version from the control unit information page.
Currently we're all TDM.
How would one go about adding that IP phone?
What equipment do I need to check for and where?

1) you need to be on 6.0 at least
2) You need to have an IP500v1 or IP500v2If you do not have both then you will not succeed.

Is that for any IP phone or just the 9650C?
Where do I look to see if I'm 6.0 and IP500v1 or v2?

That is for the 9620. 30, 40 and the 50.
The 9608, 21 and 41 work from 6.1.12 or 7.0 but again only on the IP500v1 and V2

The 9504 and 08 only work from 7.0
The 1400 work form 6.0.8
The 1600 work from 4.2.11
The 1600L work from 5.0.22
