Add-ins in PowerPoint ??!

Can anyone help - I have been set the task of building a "company" toolbar in PowerPoint. The toolbar works a treat, as long as I have the presentation which "holds" the coding open. I have succeeded in adding it to the addins, at which point the toolbar no longer works?
Can anyone advise me as to where I have gone wrong?
