I am running Exchange 2003 on 2003 Server. Currently have 200 mailboxes. I am scheduled to add 100 more mailboxes from a company recently aquired.These users are not local however they are part of our AD Domain.
What are the pros and cons of creating a new Information Store for these new mailboxes ?

What is the size of the existing store (add edb and stm together).

Pro: Might be faster. Restore quicker.
Con: Lose SIS.

Can only do this on Enterprise, not Standard.

priv.edb = 24gb
priv.stm = 18gb

pub.edb = 25gb
pub.stm = 19gb

i'm leaning towards creating a new storage group !

I'd do another SG on another array, if possible.

While you lose SIS between the SGs, you do keep it within the SG.
