I have a wretched Paradox db that I have to keep intact (it reports some data at the end of the year to government beancounters), so I've built a MS Access db with links to tables from the Paradox db. I want to add an autonumber field to one of the Paradox tables that contains a list of names and id numbers. I tried creating a table with an autonumber field and an id number field, and running various queries, but nothing really works. What I really need is to create these names/id numbers in the Paradox table, then open MY db in Access, and see these new names with a unique autonumber already created. Or something like that. Heck if I know. I personally think they should trash the old Paradox db.

Once the new field is created in Paradox refresh the linnks in access.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Oops...I forgot to mention that I don't have access to any design stuff in the Paradox db.
