Hi All
We're currently preparing to move from ArcServe to Backup Exec 2010. We want to use CASO option at our head office to manage all the branch office servers. However, in testing it seems that I can't add an existing Backup Exec server to CASO. When I try to add a managed media server to CASO, it wants to install Backup Exec remotely to that server. This will cause us issues in two ways:
1. Branch offices don't have much bandwidth, and the last thing we want to do is start installing Backup Exec over the WAN when we could run it from CD. Is there any way to add a managed media server and tell it to use the local installation files instead ?
2. Some 3rd party servers may already have Backup Exec 2010 on them, and ultimateily we would like to bring these into CASO also. But we don't want to go overwriting the existing installation. Is there any way to add an existing server as a managed media server without actually performing the installation on the remote server ?
Hope I've explained all this OK ? Thanks in advance for any help
