We are running 7.6.400B. We take DB backups at year end, restore that backup to a new DB, then attach to Macola as that fiscal year (DATA_2009_YE)... I have done this in the past but cannot find and documentation telling me how to connect Macola to the DB and have it show in the company drop down list. Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming MS/SQL, there are 3 elements to a Macola company;

1). The SQL database.
2). A matching folder on the mapped Macola drive (for reports printed to file etc.)
3). An entry in the macsql.cfg file.

here is what I did...
• In SQL create a new DB, name appropriately
• Backup the DB you want to copy into the new company
• Restore the DB to the new company DB you just created
• Go to start/programs/Macola Progression SQL Client/Progression Setup Utility
• Login as sqlserver/sa/your password
• Select your new company name, server, db, and ADD, then exit
