I am using crystal 8 and am unfamiliar with 'add command' that I am reading about in other posts.. Can someone give me a brief overview of how it works.

It isn't in CR 8, it started in CR 9, and it allows you to use SQL as the source for a report.

In general it's not best practice anyway, you're better served to use Views from a reusability and maintenance standpoint.

If you need assistance with something, post your environment and requirements.
